Director - Project Management

Position Summary:

The incumbent is to play a very critical role in overseeing all aspects of a project to ensure the final product delivered is of high quality, in compliance with the required project and statutory criteria and also the one who provides leadership, monitoring finance and risk to ensure that the work is completed on time and within the budget.

Job Descriptions:

  • Provides the oversight of project implementation for all activities, outputs, and outcomes related to project management and administration which is composed of reporting, budget development and monitoring, financial transactions, execution of project plans, and meeting of project performance criteria;
  • Provides strategic leadership and technical, operational, financial, and managerial decision-making for successful implementation of project activities;
  • Ensures that the project produces the specified objectives and results in the annual goals and workplan(s) to the required standard of quality and within the prescribed timelines and budget parameters;
  • Recommends on changes to a project that is ongoing, or developing an alternate course of action if it appears that the project is not proceeding on schedule, meeting its budget or is otherwise producing unsatisfactory results;
  • Prepares, or aids in preparing memorandums with regards to project status, appointment of consultants, agents, contractors, suppliers, or vendor selections, recommendations for award of contracts, cost variations, value engineering, termination of contracts, or other such memorandums related to projects as necessary;
  • Ensures the permits and legal papers are secured ahead of the project commencement and completion;
  • Works both in an office and construction site environment, has travelling where necessary to different locations as required;
  • Oversees the selection and training of qualified project staff, assigning clear roles and responsibilities, set clear goals and objectives, provide effective supervision, and manage performance to ensure efficient operations.

Job Requirement

  • Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in business, engineering, architecture, real estate or other related fields;
  • Minimum 8 years of professional working experience in real estate and construction industry with minimum of 5 years in managerial experience;
  • Possesses a deep and thorough understanding of the real estate and construction industry;
  • Knows what is required for a project to be completed and has realistic expectations as far as meeting budgets and deadlines are concerned
  • A proven ability to write project related documents and technical reports, and deliver presentations;
  • The ability to fostering a sense of team spirit within the Projects Department, and fostering good, cohesive, and collaborative working relationships with other departments within the organization;
  • The ability to develop strong network of industry relationships with industry partners, consultants, contractors, suppliers, vendors and other real estate bodies and agencies, and raise the profile and reputation of the organization while fostering good faith within the industry;
  • Excellence verbal and written communication in English;
